"Today is the saddest day of my life," I wrote on a tissue to my friend while we were at a coffee shop in school, cramming for that day’s exam. I cried almost endlessly the whole day. "After the exam, everything will be better. You’ll be smiling and you’ll be happier…for a lot of reasons," she assured me.
It was August 16, a day after my birthday.
Indeed, my friend was right. I was smiling after the exam…it didn’t turn out to be as bad as I imagined. But I was still sad for some reasons I’d rather keep to myself for now. I looked really miserable.
My friend asked me to accompany her to the school car parking, ostensibly to meet a friend of hers. After a few minutes, we went back to the main building to meet her friend. Funnily, I didn’t want to go inside because I just wanted to watch the people walk by the school park to keep my mind off some things. She had to force me to get inside. She pulled my right had so hard that it turned reddish later on.
When we got to the Student Council/Law Review office, I was so surprised to see most of my friends gathered there, greeting me "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" I could only smile and thank everyone for being there! "This can’t be the saddest day of my life," I thought. This is the best birthday I’ve ever had in my more than 2 decades of existence! 
I was just so happy to see my friends gathered there. *sniff sniff*
